Privacy policy
Written in plain English, because a policy nobody can read protects nobody. Last updated 6 October 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
Curtis Wright trading as Get You Booked, 10 High Street, Yelling, Cambridgeshire PE19 6SD. We are the data controller for everything described on this page. Ring 07940 022854 or email hello@getyoubooked.co.uk with any question about it.
What we collect
Reading this site collects nothing about you beyond the server log and our host's own cookies. Wix sets three of those on every page and uses one of them to measure its hosting, which is covered in the cookie policy. Everything else reaches us because you chose to get in touch or became a client.
- When you ring or WhatsApp. Your number, your name and whatever you tell us about the business. WhatsApp messages sit in WhatsApp on our phone.
- When you email. Your address, your name and the contents of the message.
- When you use the form on the contact page. Your name and email, which we need to reply, plus your phone number, your business, your current website address and your message if you fill those in. It goes straight into our Wix account and nowhere else. We use it to answer you and to quote. It is never added to a mailing list and never passed to anyone for marketing.
- When you become a client. Business address, billing details, the photos, prices and copy you send us for the site, and the logins we need to build and connect it.
- When you visit the site. Our host records the usual server log entries, including IP address, browser and the page requested. We use those to keep the site up and to spot abuse, not to build a profile of you.
We do not buy lists, we do not run advertising pixels, and we do not ask for anything sensitive. If you send us something we do not need, we delete it.
Why we are allowed to hold it
| What for | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Answering an enquiry and quoting for a job | Steps taken at your request before a contract |
| Building, launching and looking after a site | Performance of the contract between us |
| Invoices and accounts | Legal obligation |
| Keeping the site secure and working | Legitimate interests |
| Non-essential cookies | Your consent, which you can withdraw at any time |
Who else sees it
A small number of suppliers process information on our behalf, under contract, and only to do their part of the job.
- Wix. Hosting for this site and for most client sites, including Wix Bookings where that is the booking system, and the store behind the contact form on this site.
- Fresha. Where a client is booked through Fresha instead.
- Google. Business Profile listings, Search Console, Google Analytics (only if you accept cookies) and the map on the homepage and contact page.
- Meta. WhatsApp, if that is how you message us.
- Our accountant and bank. For invoices and payments.
Some of these are outside the UK. Where that happens the transfer relies on UK adequacy regulations or the International Data Transfer Addendum. We do not sell your information to anyone, ever, and we do not pass it to marketers.
How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Enquiries that did not become a job | 12 months from the last message |
| Client records, invoices and job notes | 6 years after the final invoice, which is what HMRC asks for |
| Logins and access we hold for a site we manage | Until the care plan ends, then deleted within 30 days |
| Cookie consent choice | 6 months, then you are asked again |
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you what we hold, correct it, delete it, restrict what we do with it, hand it over in a portable format, or object to us holding it on legitimate interests. Ask by phone or email and we answer within one month, free.
If we have got something wrong, tell us first and we will fix it. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping it safe
Client logins are held in a password manager, devices are encrypted and locked, and access is limited to the people doing the work. Nothing is stored on shared drives or personal email. When a care plan ends we hand back or delete the access we hold within 30 days.
Children
This is a service for businesses. We do not aim any of it at children and we do not knowingly collect information about anyone under 18.
Changes
When this policy changes we update the date at the top. The version you are reading is the one that applies.
