Case study · Everest VW

Online sales up 145% a day on the new store.

Everest VW sells DigiDash digital dashboards and DUDU7 Android head units for VW vans, and fits them. The products were right and the reviews were good, but the Shopify store had been built by an agency and was getting in the way. We rebuilt it, switched it on on 14 October 2026, and set up email behind it. In the first 19 days, online sales per day were up 145% on the seven weeks before.

The problem

Good products, a store in the way.

Antony Charnley had paid an agency for a new Shopify theme over the summer. When we looked at it in October, the header showed a placeholder American phone number, half the menu links went nowhere, the main dashboards were showing as sold out, and some of the best sellers lived at web addresses ending in "-copy". On a phone, nobody saw a price until they had scrolled past a full screen of photos. Sales had been sliding since June.

Before and after, on a phone

Five screens where the orders were leaking.

Most of Everest's visitors shop on a phone. These are the same five screens on each store, the same size, captured on the same day.

Mobile menu

From six words to the whole range.

Before. Home, Shop by Vehicle, Upgrades, About, Contact, FAQs. Every product sat two taps deep behind an arrow, and several of the links under those arrows went nowhere.

After. Search first, a Build your DUDU7 tile, then every van with its years and a from price. One tap from the menu to the right dashboard.

Collection page

Photos you can tell apart.

Before. Every dashboard used a close-up of a lit cluster with the model name cropped off the top. The T6 and the T5.1 looked almost the same in the grid.

After. A clean white product card for each van: the model in big type, the years it fits, the unit itself, and stocked in the UK with fitting available.

Product page, first screen

The price before the first scroll.

Before. A full-screen photo slider and nothing else. No name, no price, no reviews until you scrolled past it.

After. Gallery with the install video, then the Google rating, the product name, four reasons to buy from Everest and the price with the saving, all on the first screen.

Product page, choosing

Say what each option includes.

Before. "Please Select: Supply Only or Supply & Fitting" with no prices against them and nothing about where the fitting happens.

After. Each option shows its own price and what you get: the fitting guide and phone support, or fitting by Everest in St Neots, Welford or at your address. A help line sits right under the buttons.

Basket

No surprises at the last step.

Before. "Add £520.01 to unlock free shipping" on a £479.99 order, while the rest of the site promised free UK delivery over £20.

After. The Google rating, the saving, who fits it, the 30-day returns, the support number and free UK delivery, then one Checkout securely button.

Registration checker

Type the reg, get the right dashboard.

A T5, T5.1, T6 and T6.1 Transporter each need a different DigiDash, and from the driver's seat they look much the same. Buying the wrong one was the easiest mistake to make on the old store.

Now the bundle page starts with a number plate box. Type the reg, and the store checks it against the official vehicle record, shows the make, model and year, and puts the dashboard that fits in front of you with its price, before anything goes in the basket. No reg to hand? Pick the van from the list instead.

What we did

The whole store, not just the look.

Store theme

New theme built on a copy of the live one and switched over in one go on 14 October 2026.

Registration checker

A number plate box on the bundle page that looks the van up and shows the DigiDash that fits it, with the price, so nobody buys the wrong dashboard.

Buying options

Supply only or supply and fitting, with each price shown, and a DUDU7 builder that walks through screen size, fitting kit and cameras before one add to basket.

Product photos

A matching product card for every item, the old photos kept further down each gallery.

Navigation

New header, footer and mobile menus, with every dead link removed.

Google

Keyword-first titles and descriptions on 21 products and 6 collections, photo descriptions on 75 images, messy web addresses renamed with redirects, and Search Console and Google Analytics set up.

Email

Klaviyo set up from scratch: welcome, abandoned basket and checkout, browse, post-purchase, win-back and sunset flows, live from 21 October.

The result

More visits, and more of them buying.

In the 19 days from 14 October, the online store's sales per day were up 145% on the seven weeks before, and orders per day were up 90%.

Visits went up 60% a day, and the share of visits ending in an order went from 0.48% to 0.72%. Visits from Google search were up 17% on the 19 days before, with the new titles and photo descriptions only just being picked up.

The first email newsletter went to Everest's subscribers on 25 October. Nearly half of them opened it, and it brought in orders within days.

These are small numbers over a short time, and a store this size has good weeks and quiet weeks. We will add to this page as the months come in, and we will not round anything up.

★★★★★

I was recommended Curtis at Get You Booked by a friend, and after a couple of phone calls I realised how much he knows about the online space. I knew straight away I could trust him with our business. He completely redesigned our website and optimised our Shopify store, and since then our sessions, conversions and revenue have all gone up. We run a digital dash upgrade and servicing business in Kettering, working with customers across the UK, and Curtis really understood what our customers need to see before they buy or book. He's now helping us push sales through email campaigns and organic SEO, and we're already seeing the difference on Google. If you want a web designer who genuinely cares about results, I couldn't recommend Get You Booked enough.
